Ballard Jazz Festival - Annual four day festival in early spring fills the streets and clubs of Ballard with jazz. Producer/promoter and jazz record label Origin also has a great site for this festival and many other jazz events and artists they promote. Watch the promo video from 2005 to get a taste of the local talent. Bite of Seattle is an extremely popular annual event held mid July every year on Seattle Center grounds. Sample foods from dozens of local restaurants and catering services and enjoy a wide variety of arts and entertainment throughout the weekend. Bumbershoot is a "don't miss" event held on the Seattle Center grounds every Labor Day weekend since 1971. It is by far Seattle's largest annual arts and music festival; in fact promoters claim that Bumbershoot is the largest urban arts festival in all of North America. Over 150,000 people attend the three-day festival every year. With three days of music, film, comedy, spoken word, dance, theatre, visual arts and other performances offered in over 20 venues on the Center grounds, there is always something you just can't miss. Chateau Ste. Michelle summer concert series - popular musicians on the grounds of the Ste. Michelle winery in Woodinville Earshot Jazz Festival - annual event with over 70 jazz performances held in various venues, from large concert halls to small neighborhood clubs, from mid Oct-Nov. The Earshot Jazz organization sponsors additional events through thte year, including the Art of Jazz Series - at the Seattle Art Museum - free performances in the museum every 2nd Thursday of each month. Moisture Festival - is changing their website but hopefully not their spectacular Nuevo-vaudeville/circus show held every spring at the theatre at Hale's Ale Palladium in Ballard and special performances at the Paramount. Northwest Asian Film Festival - annual weeklong showcase of local asian filmmakers each winter Northwest Folklife Festival kick off your summer with family-friendly dance and music performances, exhibits, crafts, films and foods from various Pacific Northwest Cultures. A unique feature is the focus on audience participation with multiple opportunities for people to dance and sing together. One Reel Summer Nights Concerts - currently scouting for a new location to hold their popular music series Seafair - for over 50 years Seattleites young and old have flocked to Seafair, featuring air shows with the Blue Angels, hydroplane races, milk carton boat races, a torchlight parade, triathlon, fireworks, and concerts. Seattle Festival of Improvisational Theater - 4 days of performances, workshops, social gatherings, and other fun unscripted, interactive theater events each February. Seattle International Children's Festival comes to the Seattle Center each May, the week after Mother's Day. This weeklong festival features amazing professional adult companies from all around the world performing music, circus, theater, puppetry and other entertainment for audiences of all ages. Seattle International Film Festival - held every May at numerous venues around town kicks of a year-long series of SIFF events WaMu Family Forth of July over Lake Union at GasWorks Park hailed by TIME Magazine as one of the "Top Five Fireworks Displays" in the country. If you can't make it to the park, watch the show live on local King 5 television or pick another viewpoint around town and listen to musical simulcast on KISS 106.1 FM, AM 1090, JACK 96.5 FM, or KZOK 102.5 FM.
